Misty, the iconic jazz standard by Erroll Garner, has been reimagined for solo marimba. This arrangement by Justin Lamb aims to preserve the original qualities of the piece in a new medium for more to enjoy this classic tune. Lamb has expertly embodied the effortless nature of the original while maintaining the demands and skill that one would expect from great jazz musicians. This arrangement provides the performer with ample opportunities to explore harmony, coordination, and melodic interpretation in order to bring the romance of the piece forward. The piece does not require improvisation, but it is an option should the performer choose it. Misty is an excellent display of technique and musical prowess packaged within a lovely tune.
